GENERAL HINTS, TRICKS, HELP AND PLAYING TIPS AND Q AND A

GETTING STARTED HELP
Here are some hints and tips for starting to play the game.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: The game doesn't load.
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Update your Flash player by clicking here: http://get.adobe.com/ru/flashplayer/

Q: Go Fishing game help question: I can only press CAST, the other icons are not clickable.
A: Go Fishing game help answer: That's because you are in the tutorial mode. You need to catch your first fish to complete the tutorial and play the game.

CATCHING FISH HELP
Here are some hints and tips for catching fish.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: How do I catch a fish?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Equip your rod and press CAST. Watch the bobber to see when the fish bites. Once it does, press the green STRIKE button and start pulling the fish. To land the fish, press and release the PULL button and keep the bar in the middle zone (between the blue stripes). (Hitting the blue stripes precisely gives the "OVERPOWER" bonus - it makes it easier to pull the fish for a few seconds. But getting out of the blue stripes into the red zones is dangerous: it wears out your tackle and increases chances of losing the fish and tackle. If you hit the blue stripes three clicks in a row, you will get extra XP for the fish you land).

Q: Go Fishing game help question: What if the bar gets in the red zone?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: The fish might get away, you might break the tackle or increase its wear-out.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: What does 'OVERPOWER' on the indicator mean?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: If you hit the blue stripes on the indicator, you get the "OVERPOWER" bonus - it makes it easier to pull the fish for a few seconds. But getting out of the blue stripes into the red zones is dangerous: it wears out your tackle and increases chances of losing the fish and tackle. If you hit the blue stripes three clicks in a row, you will get extra XP for the fish you land.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: What do the fishing indicators show?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: The green bar is the tension indicator: it shows the load on your tackle. If the bar gets into the right red zone, the tension on your tackle is too high and you risk breaking it. If the bar gets into the left red zone, there is too little tension and you might lose the fish.
The triangle above the bar shows the distance to the fish. When the triangle reaches the left side of the bar, you land a fish.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: How do I equip a fishing rod?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: You can see your equipped tackle (bait, hook and line) in the bottom right corner of the main game window. If one of the icons is black, you need to buy new tackle on the Market. To do this, click on the black icon, or on the Market icon in the main window.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: I don't have a rod.
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Your rod could have worn out, or you could have deleted it from your inventory. Go to the Tackle section of the Market to buy a new rod.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: I lost my rod, hook and line.
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Your rod could have worn out, or you could have deleted it from your inventory. Go to the Tackle section of the Market to buy a new rod. When the rod wears out, you also lose the hook and line that were equipped with it. So keep track of the rod condition (the green bar in the Tackle section of your Backpack) and don't equip expensive hooks and lines when the rod is about to break.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: How do I switch tackle?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: To use another rod that you bought, click on the Backpack icon in the main window, open the Tackle section and click on the rod icons in the bottom to equip them.
To switch between different baits, hooks or lines that you bought, click on the tackle icons in the bottom right corner of the game window, or go to the Tackle section of the Backpack.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: The fish doesn't bite.
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Wait up to one minute, then pull the rod out of the water and cast it again. Try another bait or tackle combination - the one you are using might not be good for your location.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: The fish gets away.
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Don't let the bar into the red zones. Check that your tackle is compatible (your hook and line can hold the fish that you intend to catch with this bait). There is always a chance that a big fish bites and your tackle won't be big or strong enough to strike. Upgrade your tackle to be able to catch bigger fish.

TACKLE HELP
Here are some hints and tips for tackle.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: How do I catch bigger fish?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Get better tackle and experiment with bait at each location to catch bigger fish.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: What does MaxWeight parameter of a Rod mean?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: The higher the MaxWeight parameter, the easier it will be for you to pull out bigger fish.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: When does a rod wear out?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: The rod has a limited resource. It decreases every time you land a fish. Letting the fishing indicator into the red zones (while pulling the fish) can speed up the rod wear-out.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: Does more expensive line help catch bigger fish?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Thin line can break if a big fish bites. The more expensive the line is, the bigger fish it will hold.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: Does more expensive hook help catch bigger fish?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Cheaper hooks are only good for small fish. A big fish won't bite a small hook, or it might get away from a small hook in the process of pulling, or it might break the hook. The higher the weight indicated on the hook, the bigger fish it will hold.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: How do different tackle options influence fishing?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: RODS: The more advanced rods make landing the big fish easier. The rod weight is the recommended weight - you can pull out a 8kg fish with a 5kg rod, but it will be very difficult and might wear out your rod.
HOOKS: The small hooks are only suitable for small fish, so bigger fish can break them. The bigger hooks scare away the small fish, and it won't bite.
LINE: The line can break if it's not strong enough for the fish that is biting.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: I lost my bait, line and hook! What did I do wrong?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Firstly, your hook weight limit must not be above your line weight limit. Otherwise, you can hook a big fish that your line won't hold, then the line breaks and you lose the line, hook and bait. Secondly, try to keep the indicator within the blue stripes. In other words, don't let the indicator out in the red zones. In the left red zone, the tension on your tackle is too small and you risk losing the fish. In the right red zone, your tackle gets overloaded and it can break; then you lose the line, hook and bait.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: How long can the fish stay in my fish cage? Is there a time limit?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: No, there is no time limit.

ENERGY, MONEY AND XP HELP
Here are some hints and tips for game parameters: energy, money, XP

Q: Go Fishing game help question: What do the numbers 17/15 on the energy bar mean?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: You can obtain energy level higher than your maximum possible energy level, in case you use food items that yield Extra energy. In this case, your energy bar will show numbers like 17/15, i.e. while your normal maximum is 15 points, you have 17 points currently.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: How do I increase my reputation?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: You can increase your reputation by sending gifts and helping friends.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: How do I get fish steaks?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Buy and equip a knife and a pan. Then you can cut the fish you caught (mouse over the fish in your fish cage) and cook it (exchange for fish dishes on the Market).

Q: Go Fishing game help question: I caught a fish that gives coins and steaks, but I didn't receive the coins and steaks.
A: Go Fishing game help answer: From each fish you can get either coins (by selling it) or steaks (by cutting it). To cut the fish, buy and equip a knife and a pan. Then mouse over the fish in your fish cage and click on the steak icon to cut it. Then you get the steaks; to cook the steaks and get energy, exchange them for fish dishes on the Market.
To sell the fish, mouse over the fish in your fish cage and click on the coins icon.

FISHING GEAR HELP
Here are some hints and tips for fishing gear

Q: Go Fishing game help question: What is a fish finder and how does it work?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: A fish finder helps you locate bigger fish and valuable items in the water. After you buy and equip it, it will appear in your main window. Every 15 seconds it shows the size of the fish swimming under the water, or it may spot a treasure or a quest item. Casting your rod at the moment it shows an object increases your chances to pull this object out. The fish finder gives a high probability of catching what it shows, but it is not 100% accurate. However, the more expensive fish finder is significantly more accurate.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: What does it mean when the fish finder shows a question mark?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: A question mark stands for a quest item or a collectible.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: My fish finder disappeared.
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Many items in the game have a limited resource. The fish finders in particular have a limited battery life, and they disappear from your inventory when the battery is out of order.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: My gear or tackle item disappeared.
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Many items in the game have a limited resource. They disappear from your inventory once they wear out. You might consider not equipping the items that you don't need at a certain moment ot at a certain location in order to make them live longer.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: Does extra energy help catch fish?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: Yes, extra energy makes pulling the fish easier.

A: Go Fishing game help answer: It's heavy. Normally you need an Advanced rod to pull the chest, but sometimes you can pull it out with the Common rod and some extra energy, making use of the OVERPOWER bonus.

Q: Go Fishing game help question: How do I find the quest item?
A: Go Fishing game help answer: The best way to find it is to use a fish finder. Cast your rod when the fish finder shows a question mark.
